Terms
Last updated: 23 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of AskWrong. What we do with your data is in the Privacy notice.
Who we are
AskWrong is operated by its owner, established in the EU. In these terms, “we” means that operator and “you” means the person using the account. By creating an account or using AskWrong, you agree to these terms. You can reach us at privacy@askwrong.com.
The service
AskWrong is an online learning service. It uses AI models to answer questions, build courses and exercises, and grade answers, and it schedules reviews from those grades. It includes Ask, Theory, Practice, Interrogate the flaw, Feynman, Grill and Schedule. Some features, such as document import and notes, depend on your plan.
AskWrong is in beta. Sign-ups can be closed, or open only to invited addresses, and several features start switched off and are turned on over time. We change features to improve the service, to keep it secure or running, or to follow the law. If a change takes away something your paid plan includes in a way that matters, we tell you by email in advance, and you can cancel and get back the unused part of what you paid.
Accounts
You sign up with an email address and a password, or with Google where that option is shown. An account works only after its email address is verified.
You must be old enough to agree to these terms under the law of the country where you live. If you are under the age of majority there, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you, and to any paid plan.
An account belongs to one person. Do not share it, sell it or hand it over, and do not open extra accounts to get more credits or to get around a limit.
If you use a password, keep it to yourself; if you forget it, reset it from the sign-in page. If you think someone else has used your account, secure it and write to us.
Plans and credits
There are three plans: Free, Pro and Max. The Billing page lists the main differences between them. Some features are limited to paid plans, and some are not open on any plan yet.
AI features spend credits from a monthly balance set by your plan. It refills at the start of each month, and unused credits do not carry over. Your plan can also limit what you use in a day or a month, such as courses, scanned pages or voice input. When a limit is reached, the features it covers stop until it resets or you upgrade. Credits have no cash value and cannot be sold or transferred.
On the Free plan, and on free models on any plan, requests also draw on capacity shared with other accounts, so a request can be refused when that capacity runs out, even if you have credits left.
Paying
Paid plans are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which is the merchant of record: you buy from Lemon Squeezy, and its terms govern payment, taxes and invoices. Checkout runs on their side, so we never see your card details.
A subscription renews each billing period until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from the customer portal, which opens from the Billing page. After you cancel, you keep the paid plan until the end of the period you already paid for, then the account moves to Free. If a payment fails, you keep the paid plan while Lemon Squeezy retries it; if it keeps failing, the account moves to Free.
Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not by itself refund the period you are in. Nothing in these terms limits a right of withdrawal or a refund that consumer law gives you. To use one, or to ask about a refund, write to privacy@askwrong.com.
On the Free plan, saved history is deleted automatically after the period the Billing page shows. When a paid plan ends, your saved history is kept for at least 30 days and can be deleted after that; starting a paid plan again before then keeps it. If you want a copy, download your data first.
If we change the price of a plan, we tell you by email before the new price applies, and it applies from your next billing period, so you can cancel before then.
Your content
Your content is what you put into AskWrong: your questions, the answers you commit to, your notes, the documents and photos you import, and your corrections. You keep every right you have in it.
To run the service, you allow us to store your content, copy it, process it, and send it to the hosts of the AI models behind the feature you are using, and to services you choose to connect, such as Google Calendar. We use it only to run AskWrong for you (answers, courses, grading, review schedules, sync across your devices) and to keep the service safe. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backup copies, which expire within 35 days, and what a model host keeps under its own terms.
We do not train AI models on your content. The model hosts are separate companies with their own policies. Free models are served only to accounts that let the host train on what it receives, so a host may train on what you send to a free model. When the host of the model you pick may keep what you send, or is known to train on it, the app warns you under the model picker.
The model picker names the host of each model and links its data policy where we have one. The Privacy notice lists the services we use and where the model hosts are based.
Import only documents you have the right to use. When you import one, you confirm that you own a lawful copy, that it is for your personal use, and that you will not share it.
We claim no ownership of what AskWrong generates for you.
AI output
Answers, courses, practice sets and most grades are produced by AI models, and review schedules are computed from those grades. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and they can sound certain when they are not.
Interrogate the flaw is wrong on purpose: its answer carries one or two deliberate flaws for you to find. Do not reuse that answer as if it were correct.
Nothing AskWrong produces is professional advice of any kind, including medical, legal or financial advice. Check anything that matters against a reliable source before you rely on it. Grades and review schedules are study aids, not exam results or credentials.
Acceptable use
Use AskWrong lawfully and without harming the service or other people. Do not:
- use it for anything unlawful, or put in content you have no right to use;
- seek help to build weapons capable of mass casualties, to write malware for systems you do not own, or to steal credentials or payment data;
- request or share sexual content involving a minor;
- try to get past the automatic filter, pull out the instructions the app gives its models, or make the models act against these terms;
- scrape AskWrong, reach it by automated means other than the app itself, or resell access to it;
- try to get around credits, rate limits or plan limits, including by opening extra accounts;
- use a leaderboard name that pretends to be someone else or that is offensive;
- probe, overload or attack the service, or try to reach anyone else's data.
Part of this is enforced automatically: requests are rate limited, an automatic filter refuses attempts to override the app’s instructions, and repeated attempts pause the AI features on the account for a short time.
To report illegal content on AskWrong, write to privacy@askwrong.com.
Suspension
We can suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk. A person makes that decision. The only automatic steps are the short pause above and a sign-in lock after repeated wrong passwords. When we suspend an account, we tell you why by email and how to contest it.
A suspension stops the AI features on the account. It does not stop a subscription: you can still sign in, cancel from the Billing page, download your data and delete your account. A suspension can be lifted. If you think one is a mistake, write to privacy@askwrong.com.
We can close an account for serious or repeated breaches of these terms. Unless the breach is serious abuse, we tell you in advance and you can download your data first. You can stop using AskWrong at any time by deleting your account.
Export and deletion
The Download my data button in Settings gives you a JSON file of your courses, imported documents, saved sessions, review history and, on a paid plan, your notes. It leaves some records out, such as your saved practice sets and flaw drills, synced settings and usage figures. For a full copy of your personal data, write to privacy@askwrong.com.
You can delete your account at any time, with your password or through a link we email you. Deletion erases your account and your content, and it cannot be undone; encrypted backups expire within 35 days. It also cancels an active subscription, but does not by itself refund the rest of a period you paid for. Lemon Squeezy keeps its own payment and tax records.
Changes
When we change these terms, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects your rights or what you pay, we email you before it takes effect and say what changes. If you do not accept it, you can cancel your subscription before then and get back the unused part of what you paid, or delete your account; download your data first if you want to keep a copy. If you keep using AskWrong after the change takes effect, the new terms apply to you.
If we stop running AskWrong, we tell you by email in advance, you can download your data until it closes, and we refund the unused part of any period you paid for.
Liability
Paid plans carry the legal guarantee of conformity that consumer law gives you.
We are liable without limit for harm we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and wherever the law does not allow liability to be limited. Beyond that, on the Free plan, which you do not pay for, we are not liable for harm caused by ordinary negligence. On a paid plan, our liability for ordinary negligence is limited to the harm that was foreseeable when you took the plan.
Law and disputes
If you have a complaint, write to us first at privacy@askwrong.com. If you live in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim before the courts where you live.
Other terms
If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies. We can transfer this agreement only to someone who takes over AskWrong and keeps these terms; we tell you before it happens, and you can cancel. These terms are written in English. You can ask for an earlier version at privacy@askwrong.com.
